17th Annual Old Koloa Sugar Mill Run

{{ msToDate('11/9/2019 12:00:00 AM') | date:'mediumDate'}} · Koloa, Kauai

Event Details

Historic and picturesque, the Old Koloa Sugar Mill and Kauai’s Koloa district spans from Old Koloa Town to the beautiful South Shore of Poipu.

Koloa opened its first sugar mill in 1835, the first commercial sugar production in the islands. The era opened the door to a wave of immigrants that make up Hawaii’s multicultural population today. The town has retained much of its charm, with shops now occupying the plantation buildings along Koloa Road.

The scenic countryside is the setting for the Old Koloa Sugar Mill Run, which starts at the Anne Knudsen Park. Runners can choose a course suited for their level — either a half marathon, 5K or 10K run/walk. Registration includes breakfast after the race and a microfiber t-shirt.
