To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Alice’s Restaurant, the movie, Arlo Guthrie is on tour through fall of 2020, and performs live at the Hawaii Theatre on April 27.
Guthrie’s folk song about a series of quirky, incredulous events that began on Thanksgiving Day in 1965 struck a chord with the anti-war culture. By 1967, his career went from small unknown clubs to playing festivals and stadiums.
This tour features longtime collaborators Terry “A La Berry” Hall (drums), Steve Ide (guitar, vocals), and Carol Ide (vocals, percussion). Guthrie’s daughter, singer/songwriter Sarah Lee Guthrie, will be opening for her dad.
