Event Details

A traditional harvest-time celebration, the Moon Festival at the Wo Hing Museum in Lahaina honors Maui’s farmers.

Join in the festivities, with Chinese tea and traditional moon cakes under the sky to the accompaniment of a classical Chinese music “erhu” performance by musician Hong Zhou.

Dr. Busaba-Yip Douglas, cultural director at Lahaina Restoration Foundation, will provide the story of the Chinese Moon festival followed by Fawn Shang for her presentation of the history and story of Chinese Tea Culture and a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony, including tea and moon cake tasting.

In addition to food demonstrations and tastings throughout the day, festival attendees can participate in activities, including knot-tying and calligraphy.
