Event Details

Thousands of ukulele lovers from around the world will gather at Victoria Ward Park at Ward Village (between Kamakee Street and Ward Avenue) for a three-day picnic to celebrate Hawaii’s most beloved instrument.

This year’s picnic feature local and international ukulele musicians performing live on stage. Entertainers already confirmed to perform, include Mark Yamanaka, IMUA, Iron Mango, Kuuipo Kumukahi, Kamakekehau Fernandez and Tegan & Kaylen. Families, music lovers and visitors enjoy melodic sounds of the ukulele, a symbol of peace, friendship, ohana and love.

On Saturday, don’t miss the International Ukulele Contest at the International Market Place. Amateur ukulele players from around the world will compete for prizes from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by a hula show.

“Since we started this event 12 years ago, it has been overwhelming to see how the event has grown and touched the lives of so many — from aspiring musicians to music enthusiasts,” says Kazuyuki Sekiguchi, Ukulele Picnic in Hawaii creator and producer. “It’s a great chance for everyone to celebrate our island music and the aloha spirit.”

A full list of performers can be found at the Ukulele Picnic website, www.ukulelepicnicinhawaii.org/en/index.html
