This all-day culinary and cultural event includes a farm festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., a cooking demonstration from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., culminating with a ticketed Taste gala from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Specifically geared toward families, the festival includes under-the-big top booths, exhibits, livestock and horseback rides. A Keiki Farm Hands tent, sponsored by the Hawaii Farm Bureau, includes child-sized tractors for keiki to pedal, tiny farm tools, seeds to plant and take home, plus a replica of a Holstein cow to “milk.”
The Taste gala at the Old Kahilu Town Hall, features pasture-raised meats, and produce prepared by Hawaii Island chefs and culinary students. Tickets cost $50 presale, or $60 at the door.
The festival takes place at the Mana Christian ‘Ohana (Old Kahilu Town Hall) located behind Parker Ranch Center. Tickets go on sale on July 1 at the event website and at the Parker Ranch Store.
