Neighbor Island Travel Plan

  • We have taken everything we know about the way our local guests prefer to travel and built four different plans. We hope you will find one that meets your needs. The benefits of this program include:
    • Value - As less seats become available, seat prices increase, while your plan's seat price remains fixed.
    • Certainty - Pay once and fix the price of your future travel. Travel under your plan may be subject to some restrictions, but if there's a seat available on a qualifying flight, it's yours.
    • Convenient Booking - Manage all your bookings online through your HawaiianMiles account. There are no offer codes or plan numbers to remember.

    Before you purchase a plan, please read through the restrictions and select the plan that fits your travel needs. There are also a few other things you should know:

    • These plans are for individual HawaiianMiles members for Neighbor Island travel.
    • Neighbor Island Travel Plans are available for purchase online only.
    • You can purchase a plan every 12 months for a year's worth of flights.
    • These are for coach class trips and for non-stop flights (excludes trips that require multiple flight segments to your destination and multi-city trips).

  • After purchasing your Neighbor Island Travel Plan, an E-Certificate containing everything you need to start booking your Travel Plan trips will be deposited into your HawaiianMiles account.

    Here's a quick starter guide to use your Travel Plan:
    1. Log in to your HawaiianMiles account and start booking your flight.
    2. In the booking path, your Travel Plan E-Certificate will appear above the tool bar. Here you can select if you would like to use your Travel Plan to book your flight.
    3. As you complete the booking, our system will apply your Travel Plan to the flight. Simply enter your passenger information to confirm your reservation.

    Changes: If you need to make changes to your itinerary, please call our dedicated phone line (1-800-367-5320) and select the option for itinerary changes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please remember that there is a flat change fee of $35 per itinerary change or a $50 flat charge for changes that violate program restrictions.

    General Questions

    Can anyone purchase a Travel Plan?

    Yes. The only requirement is that you be a HawaiianMiles member. If you’re not yet a member, signing up is easy and free-just click here.

    The Neighbor Island Travel Plan is designed for individuals and is not for use by corporate, affiliate, charity, travel agent, merchant, Bank of America small business or Bank of Hawaii small business accounts. These HawaiianMiles account numbers start with 191-199.


    Can I buy a Travel Plan for someone else?

    While this is a generous thought, Travel Plans are available only to HawaiianMiles members who are buying plans for themselves, and are not transferable. We do have Hawaiian Airlines gift certificates and gift cards that you can purchase for any number of your favorite people, in any dollar amount.


    Can I purchase multiple Travel Plans?

    As long as you have only one of each type of travel plan at a time. For example, if you already have the Noa (Freedom) Plan, you can purchase another Noa Plan after your current one expires. You can purchase the Hana a Walea (Work and Play), Kipa (Visit and Explore) or Alahula (My Favorite IslandPlan while your Noa Plan is still valid.


    Can I give someone my tickets if I can’t use them?

    Sorry, you can’t. Tickets you book through your Neighbor Island Travel Plan are non-transferable and non-refundable. We’ll only issue them to you, the HawaiianMiles member, at the time of purchase.


    What restrictions come with this plan?

    We’ve made Neighbor Island Travel Plans as widely applicable and hassle-free as possible. Some do come with restrictions that may limit the times of day that you can fly or require overnight stays.

    Make sure you look over the restrictions in the product descriptions before you purchase.


    When can I book flights with my plan?

    Once you buy a plan, you can use it to book flights within the next 12 months, until the last day of the purchase month. So if you buy a plan any day in April of this year, you can use your plan to fly until April 30 of next year.

    You can purchase a plan every 12 months for a year's worth of flights. And there are no blackout dates.


    Anything else I should know before I buy?

    Please read carefully all the restrictions about advance booking, minimum night stays and blackout departure times, as well as the Terms and Conditions of your Neighbor Island TravelPlan.

    • Booking through the plan applies to you only. If you’d like to travel with someone who has their own Neighbor Island Travel Plan or who’s traveling on a regular fare, please callHawaiian Airlines Reservations. We can’t guarantee that we can find you seats together, but we’ll do our best!
    • Neighbor Island Travel Plans are good towards non-stop flights between the HawaiianIslands. They exclude multi-city trips and itineraries that require a stop in Honolulu.
    • Plans are good for 12 months, until the last day of the calendar month in which you bought your plan. So if you buy a plan any day in April of this year, it will expire on April 30 of next year. Make sure you book and fly all your trips under your plan by then!
    • Bookings are made by you, online through your HawaiianMiles account. For any changes to your itinerary, call the Hawaiian Airlines Reservations.

    Exipiration and Renewal

    How long do I get to travel?

    You’ll have 12 full consecutive months after the first day of the month you purchase your plan to complete all travel. For example, if you purchased the plan any day in April this year, your plan will expire on April 30 next year.


    What happens if I still have unused E-certificates when my Travel Plan expires?

    Like Cinderella’s carriage, they’ll disappear. So make sure to use all your E-certificates before they expire because after that, unused E-certificates will be void. They’ll have no monetary value, nor can they be exchanged for other travel.


    Can I book travel past my Travel Plan's expiration date?

    No, only up to your plan’s end date. So if your plan ends on December 31, 2014, the last day you can book and fly will be December 31, 2014.


    When can I renew my plan?

    In the last month before it expires. At the beginning of that month, you’ll be able to renew through your HawaiianMiles Account Summary Page or your NITP page (if you’re logged in), or you’ll receive an email with a renewal link.

    If you’d like to renew earlier, there’s good news and bad: Renewal before your expiration month isn’t in the cards, but once your expiration month starts, you’ll receive a limited-time renewal discount.The discount will expire when your plan expires. Say your plan expires at the end of January. You can renew it any time between January 1st and January 31st. And your renewal discount will expire on January 31st.


    Will these plans be offered all the time?

    Travel Plans are yours to purchase at any time; however we reserve the right to change or stop selling these plans at any time. So don’t think about it too long!
