Born in Thailand, chef Chai Chaowasaree began his culinary career as a child helping out in his family's popular restaurant. He was in charge of shopping the local markets to find the freshest ingredients—a job he was given as soon as he was tall enough to peer over the produce stands.

Today, Chef Chai is an award-winning chef who’s widely recognized by top food critics and national travel publications as one of the best chefs in the Islands. You’ll find him in the kitchen at his signature restaurants Singha Thai Cuisine and Chai's Island Bistro, where he creates flavorful dishes with a pan-Asian twist.

Now you can also experience his cuisine at cruising altitude. As Hawaiian Airline’s new Executive Chef, Chai will design our in-flight meal program for First Class and Coach Class passengers. Says Chef Chai, "I'm excited about the challenge of offering customers a new selection of menus that will make the flying experience to and from Hawaii even more enjoyable."
