Complimentary seat upgrades

Neighbor Island, North America and International routes

Pualani Platinum and Pualani Gold members can enjoy complimentary upgrades to Extra Comfort seats on all Hawaiian Airlines-operated flights, subject to seat availability. Seat upgrades to Extra Comfort include all seat types: aisle, window and middle.

This benefit is applicable to Pualani Platinum members and up to six (6) travel companions on the same reservation. For Pualani Gold members, this benefit is applicable to the member only. Your HawaiianMiles number must be present in your reservation, or added prior to completing the check-in process.

Starting 24 hours prior to departure, the Pualani Elite member may select an upgrade to Extra Comfort when checking in for their flight via web, mobile, kiosk. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Revenue tickets (all  Main Cabin fare classes, excluding Main Cabin Basic) and flight award tickets are eligible for the complimentary upgrade, subject to seat availability.

First Class upgrades

When traveling between the Islands, Pualani Platinum members will have an available First Class seat be automatically assigned at check in. If a First Class seat is not available at the time of check-in, they will be placed on an upgrade waitlist. Should a seat become available prior to departure, agents will then assign seats starting with the member who checked in first.

If the Pualani Platinum member is traveling with non-Platinum companions on the same reservation and the Pualani Platinum member is upgraded to First Class, their companions will not be able to make changes to their coach seat assignment. Pualani Platinum members are entitled to use upgrade certificates to request North America First Class or international Business Class seats. Main Cabin Basic fares are not eligible to upgrade. Learn more here.
