Changing bookings
  • Each airline offers live customer assistance to quickly manage your request. Here's what you need to know:
    • If you booked your ticket on HawaiianAirlines.com, please visit HawaiianAirlines.com. You may find additional assistance via the Hawaiian Airlines Help Center located at the top of the home page.
    • If you booked your ticket on AlaskaAir.com, please visit AlaskaAir.com. You may find additional assistance via the Alaska Airlines Help Center located at the top of the home page.

Airports

Checking in
  • To quickly find the operating carrier of your flight, simply pull up your reservation on AlaskaAir.com or HawaiianAirlines.com. Your operating carrier will be listed alongside or beneath your flight number.
  • Yes. Simply visit the website or app of the operating carrier for your first flight.
  • For both airlines, the app is the easiest way to access your most up-to-date flight information. Please remember to use the app associated with the airline operating your first flight, regardless of where you purchased your ticket.
  • If you bought your tickets from Alaska Airlines, Alaska's bag fees apply. If you bought your tickets from Hawaiian Airlines, then Hawaiian's bag fees apply. If you booked roundtrip flights, the same bag fees will apply full itinerary.
  • To ensure a seamless travel experience, please check in with the operating carrier of your flight. For example:
    • If you're flying Hawaiian Airlines, check in through the Hawaiian Airlines website, app or counter.
    • If you're flying Alaska Airlines, check in through the Alaska Airlines website, app or counter.
Gates
  • While Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines gates will eventually be in the same locations, the moving process will take some time. Please follow the signs in the airport to quickly find the appropriate check-in and gate areas.
  • No matter what airline you're flying, you can expect friendly, on-the-ground care.

Connecting
  • To receive your boarding pass for a connecting flight between Alaska and Hawaiian, please see an agent from the airline operating your flight upon arriving at your connecting airport. They will be happy to assist and provide you with your boarding pass.
  • Finding your connecting flight should not be a hassle. For your most up-to-date gate information, simply check the mobile app associated with the airline operating your flight or check the airport information displays.
  • To ensure that all guests are notified immediately in the event of a delay or cancellation, both airlines deploy multiple communications. Here's what to know:
    • If you have the respective Hawaiian Airlines or Alaska Airlines app, you will be notified there.
    • If you have provided your contact details to the airline, you will also receive email and text notifications.
    Lastly, airport and inflight announcements will also be made.

Baggage

  • For a quick bag pickup, here's what you need to know:
    • For Alaska Airlines-only flights, go to the Alaska Airlines Baggage Claim Carousels.
    • For Hawaiian Airlines-only flights, go to the Hawaiian Airlines Baggage Claim Carousels.
    • For Connecting flights ending with Alaska, go to the Alaska Airlines Baggage Claim Carousels.
    • For Connecting flights ending with Hawaiian Airlines, go to the Hawaiian Airlines Baggage Claim Carousels.
  • Both airlines make it easy to print your bag tags and drop your bags, but as each airline's travel policies still apply, printing tags and bag drop-off cannot be done across airlines. If you're flying Hawaiian Airlines, you should print bag tags and drop your bags with Hawaiian Airlines and vice versa.
  • Not at this time. If you arrived on a Hawaiian Airlines flight, you should open a claim with Hawaiian Airlines, and vice versa.

Loyalty

Existing Program
  • Absolutely. You can expect no changes to your HawaiianMiles account or mileage balance.
  • We're excited to share that later this year, you'll be able to earn HawaiianMiles when flying on Alaska Airlines. In the meantime, if you are traveling on Alaska Airlines in the near future and would like to create a Mileage Plan account to earn miles on your Alaska flight, you are welcome to do so.
  • We're excited to share that later this year, you'll be able to earn Alaska Mileage Plan miles when flying on Hawaiian Airlines. In the meantime, if you are traveling on Hawaiian Airlines in the near future and would like to create a HawaiianMiles account to earn miles on your Hawaiian Airlines flight, you are welcome to do so.

Mileage Earning
  • We're excited to announce that Mileage Plan members can earn miles when booking Hawaiian Airlines flights directly on Alaskaair.com. Coming soon, we'll launch the the ability to earn HawaiianMiles on Alaska Airlines flights too! Stay tuned for updates, and thank you for being a valued loyalty member.
  • While you cannot earn HawaiianMiles when flying with Alaska's partners, we're excited to announce that you now have the ability to seamlessly transfer miles between your HawaiianMiles account and Alaska’s Mileage Plan at a 1:1 ratio for no charge, and redeem on Alaska Airlines or Alaska Airlines partner flights. Make sure you have an account in both HawaiianMiles and Alaska’s Mileage Plan. Miles can only be transferred between accounts owned by the same individual. Transfer now.
  • Simply use the frequent flier number associated with the airline that you are flying. For example, if you are flying on Hawaiian Airlines or a HawaiianMiles partner, use your HawaiianMiles number. If you are flying on Alaska or an Alaska Global partner, use your Alaska Mileage Plan number.
Credit Card
  • As of now, there are no changes to the benefits of your Hawaiian Airlines credit card. All current travel benefits associated with your card, including free checked bags, will continue to be valid on Hawaiian Airlines flights only.
  • Your Hawaiian Airlines credit card will continue to function as it does today. As of now, there are no changes to the Hawaiian Airlines credit card program or your cardholder benefits.
  • As of now, there are no changes to the benefits of the Alaska Airlines credit card. However, all of your current credit card benefits, including the first free checked bag and Alaska's Famous Companion Fare will continue to be valid on Alaska Airlines flights only.
Elite Benefits
  • While there are no changes to benefits offered within the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan or HawaiianMiles Pualani Elite Status programs at this time, we're excited to share that coming later this year, members will have the ability to request an instant status match between carriers, gaining access to the benefits offered within each respective program. Additionally, your status will be awarded based on the sum of your elite-qualifying miles in both programs. More information on the future combined loyalty program will be available in 2025. Huaka'i by Hawaiian
  • Huaka‘i by Hawaiian is a new travel program exclusively for Hawai‘i residents. The name "Huaka‘i" means to voyage or to travel with intended purpose. The program offers unique discounts and benefits for those living in Hawai‘i. "Huaka‘i" is pronounced “who-ah-kah-ee.”
  • Huaka‘i members enjoy exclusive benefits when traveling interisland, including 10% off one booking per quarter and a free bag. Additionally, members will have access to exclusive, network-wide deals each month.
  • The program is exclusively for Hawai‘i residents. Any HawaiianMiles member with an address in Hawai‘i is eligible.
  • In the coming weeks, Hawai‘i residents will receive an email with a link to sign up for a free membership.

Million Miler
  • We're excited to share that later this year, members of both programs will be able to complete an automatic status match, using the combined elite qualifying miles balances in Mileage Plan and HawaiianMiles. Lifetime miles balances will not be combined until Mileage Plan and HawaiianMiles are merged. Stay tuned for more information on the future combined Mileage Plan and HawaiianMiles programs available in 2025, and thank you for your continued loyalty!

General

  • We're excited to announce that we will maintain both beloved brands as we work together to deliver the care that we are both known for, increased benefits, a premium experience and even greater value across both Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines. While we begin the process of aligning the operations of both airlines, Alaska and Hawaiian will continue to operate as separate airlines with no immediate changes to our day-to-day operations. We will maintain separate websites, reservation systems and loyalty programs until later in the integration process – an extended process that can take up to 18 months.
  • Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines’ classes of service will remain the same. Here are the main differences in each carrier’s offerings:
    • In addition to the Main Cabin, Alaska Airlines also offers First Class and Premium Class service. Premium Class accounts for the seats with extra legroom at the front of the Main Cabin. As a guest in Premium Class, you will also receive priority boarding and complimentary beer, wine and spirits.
    • Hawaiian Airlines offers Extra Comfort seats, which include extra legroom, priority security screening (select airports), priority boarding and 110V power plugs. Free alcoholic drinks are not included as part of their offering.
    • Hawaiian Airlines also offers First & Business Classes. On two-aisle aircraft, these classes feature fully flat beds. On Hawaiian Airlines' Boeing 787 aircraft, you'll also have direct access to the aisle, a sliding door and a large HD TV screen.
  • In the event of a delay or cancellation, the airline that was scheduled to operate the delayed or cancelled flight will issue you compensation and/or reimbursement for costs incurred.

  • At this time, Hawaiian Airlines club spaces are exclusively for guests of Hawaiian Airlines only. Please stay tuned as we continue to evaluate what our future Lounge programs look like.
