Travel waiver for volcanic activity on Hawaii Island

Nov. 28, 2022 10:00 A.M. HST

Due to the recent volcanic activity from Mauna Loa, we’ve issued a travel waiver for Hawaiian Airlines flights to/from Hawaii Island scheduled between Nov. 28 – Dec. 4, 2022 HST. Travel to/from Hilo (ITO) and Kona (KOA) are covered with this waiver. See waiver options below.

  • Reschedule your flight at no additional cost:
If you’d like to reschedule your flight to new dates and your original flight date is between Nov. 28 – Dec. 4, 2022 HST, we’ll waive any applicable fare difference on the same city pair for travel and same cabin of service. Tickets must be rebooked by Dec. 4, 2022 and travel must recommence by Dec. 14, 2022.

  • Cancel your flight and use the value as credit towards a new ticket:
Cancel your flight now and you’ll keep the unused value of the ticket until the ticket expires*. Upon rebooking a new flight, no change fees will be charged, but a fare difference may apply.

*Tickets expire 1 year from the original date of purchase.
