Traveling with Animals
We transport dogs, cats and household birds, but there are conditions and restrictions that apply whether you are traveling with your pet or trained service animal. We advise you to read and understand the conditions and restrictions thoroughly prior to traveling with an animal.
• Permitted only on inter-island flights and flights between the State of Hawaii and North America (except flights to/from JFK, BOS, or AUS).
• Only dogs and cats are permitted.
• Your pet must be in an approved carrier that will fit comfortably under the seat in front of you.
• You may book your pet in the passenger cabin at the same time that you make your own flight reservations. (Subject to applicable fees and space availability by calling Hawaiian Airlines Reservations.)

• The pet and kennel combined weight must not exceed 70 lbs. If the combined weight is in excess of 70 lbs., we may transport your animal via our Cargo department.
• The pet will be loaded in the baggage compartment of your passenger flight.
• You may book your pet as checked-in baggage at the same time you make your own flight reservations. (Subject to applicable fees and space availability. You may call our Reservations Department at 1-800-367-5320 to make your arrangements.)

We welcome guests and their trained service animals aboard our aircraft. Trained service animals are different from emotional support / comfort animals in that they have been trained to perform specific work or tasks to assist a guest with a disability in the management of their disability.

Emotional support animals are animals that provide comfort, affection or companionship, but are not trained to perform a specific work or task to assist with a disability.
Effective Jan. 11, 2021, Hawaiian Airlines will no longer accept emotional support animals as service animals, in line with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s updated regulations (14 CFR Part 382). Emotional support animals may be transported as pets, if all pet acceptance requirements are met.
