Kahala Mall

This suburban shopping center has a Whole Foods, a theater, and local boutiques

Kahala Mall is a 15-minute drive from Waikiki in one of Oahu’s most affluent communities. Vaulted atriums, a fountain surrounded by tropical plants and ample comfortable indoor and outdoor seating create a casual, family-friendly ambience.

Among Kahala Mall’s more than 100 stores and restaurants are Macy’s, Banana Republic, the Apple Store, Whole Foods Market, and California Pizza Kitchen. Specialty shops of note include SoHa Living (home décor) and the Compleat Kitchen (cookware of all kinds). Flip-Flop Workshop is a cool kiosk that sells design-your-own slippers.

An eight-plex theater screens first-run movies and indie films, and shoppers are welcome to participate in free activities, including the hour-long Toddler Time, offering storytelling, sing-a-longs, crafts, and other fun and educational activities for keiki (children) and their parents or sitters to enjoy together. The low-impact Luk Tung Kuen class incorporates 36 movements that can increase circulation and unblock pressure points in the body. Also offered are Scrabble and chess games and mall walks that can improve your balance, protect your joints, and develop breathing techniques to support your back.
